FaceGen eyelid "smearing" when eyes are closed

Hi -

Occasionally, when using FaceGen, I have noticed what I can only describe as "smearing" or "stretching" of eyelid material when the character's eyes are closed. It may be somewhat dependent on the reference image. It can be somewhat minimized with postwork, but I wonder if anyone else has experiencedc it and how/if they address it.

Thank you.

It's a limitations of these kinds of program. You can see some issues if the photo you choose has big fake lashes too. You can fix it right on the generated textures, if you can find a premade texture that closely matches the skin tone and clone in the eyelid part. Or you can clone out unwanted things from the photo before you give it to facegen. I like to get rid of lashes and brows and other things I don't like before using it when possible.

You're quite right... I think it's the lashes that're causing it. I might try to clean things up on the generated texture.

    Thanks for replying!

If it's what I see sometimes I think it's actually like you can see through very thing eyelids to the iris / pupil underneath. I have that look sometimes too.
