DAZ Studio shuts down with unattended renders

OK so it's probably my fault but sonething is screwed. I am doing some fairly intense renders (two figures, one background, three lights, fifteen clothing items, 2000 pixels by 1600). are taking over two hours to render so i leave then to get on with it. Then i come back and Studio has shut down and dumped everything. Any ideas why?

Check the Log File. Help/Troubleshooting/View Log File. The entries at the end should give you an idea of what is happening, or post it here, just the last lines not it all :)

Note that D|S constantly saves the render as it progresses. Just in case your problem happened right at the end, you might have a complete (or nearly complete) render file. Check your D|S preferences to see where the "Temp" folder is. Look in there, and the latest saved render will be named "r.png".

A word of caution, the temp folder is deleted when D|S closes normally, so if you've run it since the crash, bye-bye render.

  • Mine has been acting up like this lately after the last Windows Update.

    I made sure that:

    1. All Windows Updates were caught up in the windows update settings area. If you delayed/paused any recent windows updates for later, this may cause some headaches.

    2. I did a clean install of my latest NVidia driver - not a simple overwrite of the driver. You are given the option to do a clean install when you download the latest NVidia driver in the custom install branch of installation. When i did that, my unattended render and PC crashes stopped.

  • Thanks guys. I re installed the Nvidia drivers for my GeForce GTX1050TI and it seems to have helped. It is very annoying when this happens as I have a high end i7 processor 48GB of RAM and the grahics card with 8GB, Does anyone know if the Nvidia Bridge works so i can pull in my render farm?
