split 2 shoes in 2 single shoes possible?
split 2 shoes in 2 single shoes possible?
I wanna have the shoes separated, the question.... is that possible? I can hide the sliders for the left shoe and hide it, but the box is still boxed to both, can I somehow remove the geometry or something?
So I can say my char takes off shoe 1 and then shoe 2 and can throw them away each for itself :) I mean... we dont jump out of our shoes :D
Is it even possible in Daz3d or do I need blender or zBrush for editing objects?

You could probably do it in hexagon
geometry editor
use rightclick options lasso and select and hide
Personally, I find the "hide one" option convenient for one-off renders, but it gets a bit tedious if the footwear is being used frequently. In the latter case, Choholes suggestion of taking the footwear into a modelling program like Hexagon and using it to create separate left and right foot props is definitely the way to go for repeated use. Its a little more work, but very much a do-it-once-and-done thing.
What about doing the "hide" on one shoe with the geometry editor, then delete the hidden vertices, than save as a wearable preset. Then repeat the process with the other shoe? Now you'd have separate wearables for each foot. Not the optimum for a shoe prop you can toss on the ground because of the rigging and origin, of course. For that, the Hexagon approach is probably better.
Thanks for your suggestions, I will try out what I can do :)
I never started Hexagon... dont even know where it is or how it works :D but I know its in my library
to me just lassoing and hiding with the geometry editor is so much easier
to use as props convert to prop first and delete instead of hide and save as a support asset under a new name
If I would know HOW the geometry editor works, have you a tutorial video for me? because Hexagon is too complicated for me and it seems like there is no tutorial which explains it for me... only tutorials how to make clothes did I found :/
finding simple tutorials is frustrating
I almost decided to do one myself but busy doing other stuff
this is an old old one for 4.6 I found on YouTube searching
they all make it too complicated and waffle on, honestly it's about 3 clicks
Oh thanks!
Next question there....
if I do it for left shoe/right shoe (and I also wanna do it for socks!) will the autofit still work for all the stuff ? but one thing is still there, the "box" around the item is still big. because shoes are on both feet right?
btw... why are socks+shoes not standard delivered as 2units in 1 group ? like you get other outfit sets in a group like pants+belt. So you can decide I wanna wear 2 different socks for the crazy touch or for undressing first the one and then the other or... maybe I wanna throw my shoe on my man because hes an idiot :D (womans did throw a lot stuff on theyre man... )
yepp, there are stocks for it xD... Stocks for the socks or what...
If I morph a shoe around with the sliders I have can i save it as a prop or something? so if I wanna load the special morphed shoe it will load as I saved it and as what should I save it? Like a shoe for fittign in a hand for a throwing scene .
And because CTRl+Z doesnt seems to work... how can I undo all changes? :D
I just looked for a video how to save my dforced scene as subscene because... for some reason after loading it, its like before -_-...
and what do I see?... oh the basics... 1Hour...
the tutorials on youtube on anything are painful,
its to hot for me to fire up my computer or I might of tried to set out a few screenshots and text for you
44°C today I am staying on my ipad by the fan
I also have a tendency to look at the forum while my computer is busy performing other tasks
I will try to type some steps without references so sorry if I misname something
for permanent shoes.
Mhhh thanks, will the box then get smaller, when I delete it? And... is there a reason why the peoples dont split socks/shoes normally? I found one pair of socks from a nice creator who splitted them into L+R and added morphs for taking them off :D (mainly for G2, but compatible to newer)

he/she made some really nice free items...
the bounding box? yes
