I've installed DAZ 4.12 via Install Manager. The DIM asked me about the location prior to the installation. But that was obviously only for the DIM?
When the installation started, all the files were downloaded and installed in C, which I did not want to.
The DIM has installed about 10 GB on my C partition. But I don't want it to stay on C, so I tried to change the paths via DIM under settings>installation. I changed all the paths and clicked accept, but the stuff is still on C.
So I wanted to uninstall everything, but how? In the DIM there is nothing listed under "Installed", and "Ready to Download" and "Ready to Install" is also empty.
How am I supposed to uninstall everything?
Or alternatively, how can I at least change the path for the two big folders under User/Public/Documents > DAZ 3D and My DAZ 3D Library? There seems to be an option in the DIM for My DAZ 3D Library, but it is greyed out? I mean, I could manually move them, but there should be a proper way to do that, right?
Comments
I can't choose anything because all three tabs are empty. Although everything is still installed.
How can I uninstall everything? Seems like the only way is to manually delete all the folders.
Windows > System > Software uninstall only shows the DIM, nothing else.
You should un-check Install After Download. DIM can't see anything because you have changed the Manifest Files location but the actual files are still at the old location.
Thanks, that worked. I could uninstall everything.
Now, if I want to reinstall DAZ, should I use the DIM or better download DAZ seperately (to install it right away on a custom location). I can't really judge if I need all these modules.
And if I use the DIM, is there a way to download and install everything right from the start on another partition/location right from the start, without having to move everything after the initial installation?
Nevermind, I found the way to modify installation path in DIM prior to installation. I probably have missed it in the first try.
