I'm waiting for a render to finish cooking and I had a little time on my hands. This is a dangerous thing!

Went to try to find something to spend my Platinum Club voucher on, and the website was offline. Again.

So rather than whine about it, I got creative!

FEED HENRIETTA!

    Good one :D

But seriously, it seems that the website is offline a lot recently, not just in the "magic ten minutes" of sale-changeover after midnight. I was already beginning to wonder if there's a problem.

Aren't hamsters like tribbles? Feed them and they make more?

Kind of. Tribbles are born pregnant, while hamsters... ;-)

The next time the site goes down, the hamster may find herself with some male friends when it comes back online, lol.

The site has been going off for longer periods of time too.

I get that cloudflare crap really bad every now and then in Chrome on my pc, phone, and tablet. I clear my cache and they stop.

    /edit
DIM seems to be downloading slow as molasses too. I just bought all of the Fiend stuff and I'm only getting 400-500KB/s transfer rate. Wonder if the Daz folks are mass uploading MM stuff.

I have been getting this error very frequently over the past week, to the point that I am surprised when I get through. Have never had something like this before; it is very frustrating.

Using a different method to connect to the site, I realized that the forums are actually online, even when my main computer was showing the error from CloudFlare.

Maybe resetting the browser app may help (Safari on a Mac)...

Clearing your browser's cache is generally the remedy for this, at least until the next time it happens. Rinse and repeat.

DAZ cookies can also be the problem. There is one in particular that does get corrupted by various browsers.

Go to the settings page by clicking on the menu button in the top-right corner.

Search for cookies. Under Search results click Privacy click Content settings... Then click all "cookies and site data"

Search for daz in the text box.

...been doing that and clearing cache (I have FF set to empty the cache on closing as well as an "Empty Cache" button on the FF toolbar) but still have the following occur:

--Being logged out while actively on the forums, sometimes right after clicking the Submit Post button.
--Still getting just the Store, not the Forums sign in page when this happens.
--Being misdirected to my Account Page instead of back to the Store or thread I was on after signing back in.
--Getting a blank "Post a New Reply" window after submitting a post.

This is beginning to become rather chronic again.

it's been twenty two months now and these issues are still occurring.

There is only one sign in page, so whether you are logged out on the forums or in the store you get the one log in page, which then sends you to your account page. I have got in the habit of pulling up a new tab with which to log in when I get the daily log out occur on the forums, and then go back to what I was doing before the log out occured.

The post not taking thing with the blank page coming up can be cured by judicious use of the back button, and sometimes the review post button to assist the back button.

...I remember seeing and even using a separate forums sign in page after the site change. What happened to it?

Using just the Store sign in for both with it's built in timeout function is a real pain. I can understand being timed out after a period of inactivity (like say 30 min), but in the midst of writing a post or actively viewing a thread? Crikey, on other forms like Disqus (which is a huge community as it is a forum service which is used by many different news sources) and the Washington Post, I can come back a day or two later and still find I am logged in.

For a long time the "blank" post issue disappeared and I thought, "good that has finally been fixed". Now it is back which leads me to wonder what broke it again.

Related to this, what has been going on with the "change" to new forum software that was announced months ago? Are we any closer to implementation?

    ETA:

Just clicked on a new ebot immediately after submitting what I wrote above and was immediately sent to the "Customer Login" page again.

I've been having problems too, and using the Back button, clicking on Preview Post button, and THEN clicking on Submit Post usually gets it done .

I, as a general rule, delete my entire FF cache and temp files at the end of every day, just so I can start fresh the next day.

I do that too, and purge cookies once a week or so

I am trying to access the online tutorial videos for Carrara that I bought a couple of years ago. I gave up then because the website was always down.
So, here we are on the 19th of April 2015, and I am once again struggling with Carrara. And true to form - the flipping site is down. What the hell?

    Error 522 Ray ID: 1d93fa21f8bf0a8a • 2015-04-18 22:59:37 UTC
    Connection timed out

I gave up and bought an Infinite Skills tutorial (with a guy with a lisp that's driving me nuts), and I still cannot fathom out how he does some stuff! Simple things that might be in the sparse 'official videos', if I could get to them...

I've cleared caches, installed other browsers, used different computers, and even different Internet connections.
So, is the hamster actually dead at long last? Just like all the awesome archived helpfiles that lost the links to the VITAL image files all those years ago, it has ceased to be..?

I have spent thousands of dollars with DAZ, and you spend money on CloudFlare (which is great by the way), but at least give the hamster a bit more food so that it can actually do its job - so I can do mine.

    Thanks,
    Susi xxx

    PS
http://www.isitdownrightnow.com/forumarchive.daz3d.com.html also says it is dead.
C'mon guys. Please fix this. This has been going way too long. :(

That is for the old forum which is archived, not the website

The first error code you quoted is a CloudFlare error. They are normally short lived arrors, unless Cloudflare themselves are experiencing problems.

Cloud flare did have problems on 17th April, 2 incidents, one early morning and one later in the day, plus there was a minor problem in some areas on 18th April which lasted just over an hour before being solved.

Back when I decided to start a hamster ranch in my apartment, I researched and found that if you start with 1 male hamster and 1 female hamster, don't buy or sell any, at the end of a year you will have 100,000 hamsters. That's why I wanted to have a ranch. I was going to get rich, but my family nixed that plan.
