Change install path of Daz Connect?
Hello,
Can I change the install path of Daz Connect?
Daz is starting to take up a lot more space than I expected initially. I think I reached around 200 GB now.
In the beginning I used DIM to install stuff (I know you can setup the path for DIM) but then I wanted to update the stuff I installed from there in the smart content tab. When I press the install/update button, surprise surprise, Daz Connect installs the content all over again in their path and so I had duplicate data of everything.
Since I love the smart content tab (I try to setup metadata even for free stuff from Renderosity so that they show up there) I decided I will only use Daz Connect from now on and unistalled everything from DIM.
But Daz is starting to take up a lot of space and my main C drive is a SSD with a limited 500 GB capacity. I would like to hold my data, or at least some of it, on my storage drive. Is that possible using Daz connect and smart content?
Thanks

In Studio - Edit -> Preferences -> Content -> Content Directory Manager
Expend Daz Connect Data - this is your current connect path
Copy this directory to your desired location with Exploer
Select the directory entry in Studio, select Edit and change (browse) to the new location and accept the change
Note that Studio only permits ONE directory for Connect
Verify by shutting Studio down, renaming the old directory, starting Studio, and making sure the content is still accessible; if so, go ahead and delete the old directory..
Thanks, exactly what I needed.
Too bad that Connect can only use one directory... why is that?
That means that if I want, I can move it to my storage HDD, but I have to move everything, I can't keep some of the more used stuff on my SSD (at least not for Connect).
Any idea if Daz plans to improve this and add multiple paths to Connect?
If you add the old path as a regular Daz Studio Format and Poser Format content diectory the old content will still work - in fact DS will offer to do this for you when you change the directory.
