Keeping the timeline (animation) tab with everything else? (4.12)

Ever since 4.12, I haven't been able to keep the Timeline Tab with all my other tabs (smart content, simulation, render, etc). Instead what happens is it just takes over as the only tab, keeping me from using the others, until I take it away completely. This makes it much harder to get to content in between frames. Wondering if other have a similar issue and if there's a simple fix. Thank you.

I'm not sure what you mean - that it won't dock?

It docks, but then it becomes the only tab available, all others disappear, no smart content, no content library tab, all tabs gone
