Wolfie G8M iray textures

So I've added the parts I need to my model, but the base textures of the ears and tail will not apply. The fur will apply but the base textures will not; the ears and tail just stay plain, flat white. I have the parts selected and am in the materials tab of the smart content library, double click the texture and it acts like it's going to load then nothing applies.

I don't have it, but can make a guess.

The materials are hieracical presets, meaning you have to have the character selected when applying the materials to the ears and tail.

  • I made sure I had the parts selected correctly, there's even a setting to add all wolfie parts and textures and that doesn't apply them either.

If it is hieracical, you need to only select genesis 8 male node, selecting the parts will not work. You could go to help > view log file, hit control a, backspace, then control s to clear the log and close it. Try to apply textures again, then look in log for any errors it may be showing, that would make it easier for people to hlep troubleshoot with you.

  • Okay, I've found the problem, They don't seem to be compatible with the geoshells I'm using: Jepe's bodyhair and an adult genetalia geoshell

You might be able to apply the material onto a "neutral" character, and from there copy surface settings to the surface or geoshell of your chosen character.

  • the materials are applying, but when I have my geoshells on you can't see them, just plain white. trying to apply the textures to the geoshells does nothing either.

Select the geoshell one by one, for each geoshell, go to Parameter> Visibility> and turn off the ears in each geoshell.  Geoshells tend to appy themselves to other geoshells so you can switch off the shared parts.

I didn't even know that was a thing, you just saved me lol. Thanks a lot!
