add hood without snapping to model...?

Hey everyone! I have this cloak https://www.daz3d.com/dforce-ssc-knight-cloak-for-genesis-3-and-8 and would like to have the hood fallin back on the models shoudlers. The problem is I can't seem to add the hood to the scene withought it merging with the model. I have tried adding it with nothing selected and it still snaps to the models head. If I open it as a new project I can move it and place it as I'd like but as if there's a model there - even if she's hidden - it will snap. I could do it as a new project but I need the shoudlers to see how it fits... Also I've checked and it's no parented to anything.
So... how do I place the hood without having it merge/snap to the model?
Thank you!

I think you should be able to load it without fitting to the character.
But even if, have you then tried to fit to none and parent to none?
I'm rendering right now so I can't try but I did place the hood with no figure selected and I did chek parents to none...
Even if the hood isn’t parented to the figure, it sounds like it’s still fitting to the figure, which basically overrides parenting.
@UnderlandDigital
The product says it has 13 fitting and adjustment morphs for the hood. I would be surprised if Shodan didn't include a morph to have the hood off the head.
Well I'm still new to daz so I might have missed how that works. Here are some screens to see if it helps :)
Hood female, basic genesis 8 not selected, parents, scene and hood parameters...
Tried with other clothing and they all snap to model even if it's not selected...
In your last image, with the parameter list, there is 13 green sliders. That is the adjustment morphs.
Try to go through each of those and see if any of those have the desired effect.
You can reset a slider to its default value, by holding <alt> and clicking on the slider.
The hood seems to be dForce ready.
And if so, you can use dForce to get what you want.
I can make a couple of suggestions, both using timeline animated for achieving the result.
a) Use a primitive sphere as helper to push the hood back. This might be a little tricky because after you gave pushed it back you must move it forward and out of the way to let gravity finish it on its own
b) Start in frame 0 to have your character horizontal on the back, so the hood will fall down, and then raise the character.
Thanks! I'll give those a try :) If they don't work I'll just try to render it alone and then do my magic in photoshop... Hopefully I can get something decent quick :)
