Missing Product - Iray Blizzard

I purchased this product a while ago, and used it once or twice.

https://www.daz3d.com/iray-blizzard

I recently tried to use it again and it has completely dissapeared from Smart Content.

The DIM says it is installed. I even uninstalled and reinstalled it and still no luck finding it in Smart Content.

I searched All Products for "Bizzard" and nothing. Even search "Iray" and it was not listed among any of the results.

Does anyone one know where in DAZ Studio I can find this? Or if there is some problem with it?

In your Content Library, DAZ Studio Formats, look under Props -> Kindred Arts -> Iray Blizzard. If it's not there, it's going to the wrong place. Did you change installation path in DIM? When in DIM, right-click on the Iray Blizzard product and select "Show Installed Files..." The list will show you where the files are, relative to the library root.

This is what DIM is showing for installed files for Iray Blizzard (I copied one of the files only to show you the path):

    file:///C:/Users/Public/Documents/My DAZ 3D Library

    file:///C:/Users/Public/Documents/My DAZ 3D Library/Props/KindredArts/Iray Blizzard/Decals/Decal Materials/KABL Snow Decal A Dirty.duf

But I cannot find in in Smart Content or Content Library.

Iray Apocalypse is in Smart Content, and it has a similar path structure, so I don't know what is going on...

    file:///C:/Users/Public/Documents/My DAZ 3D Library/Props/KindredArts/Iray Apocalypse/Atmosphere/Atmosphere Materials/KAAPO !Grid Reset.duf

The attachment is a screenshot of the "Show product in Content Library" for Iray Apocalypse, and as you can see Iray Blizzard should appear after Apocalypse, but it is not listed there.

That is the Product view, which depends on metadata being correct, just like the Smart Content does. Navigate manually, on the Content Library tab, DAZ Studio Formats, through to the Props -> KindredArts folder. This shows the physical layout of the files (that DAZ Studio recognizes), metadata or not. Is there an Iray Blizzard folder? Try a right-click on the KindredArts folder and select "Refresh". Studio should do that on its own, but sometimes it doesn't.

    Thank you!

I did find it there, in DAZ Studio Formats. But clicking Refresh on the KindredArts folder did nothing. It's still not showing up in Smart Content. I even clicked refresh on Iray Blizzard folder itself and still nothing after exiting DAZ Studio and launching again. No Smart Content for Iray Blizzard.

Well at least I know that if I need to use Iray Blizzard, I can find it in the Content Library. It's just not as convenient as having it in Smart Content.

What is puzzling is that when I first purchased this product nearly a year ago, it did indeed show up in Smart Content. So it's puzzling to me why this one KindredArts product is like this.

Do the individual items in the Iray Blizzard folders have the identifying flashes in the upper right corner, that show the content type, like Prop or Material(s)? If not, the metadata is not being loaded properly. You can reload the metadata in DIM (another right-click on the product, Re-Import metadata), then refresh the folder again. This assumes that the metadata file (DAZ_3D_57663_Iray_Blizzard.dsx) is actually present in the Runtime/Support folder.

They do have the flashes in the upper right. See attached.

Okay, metadata looks good. If you load one of the props and go to Smart Content, does it show possible materials that can be applied (Filter by Context checked)? If you load the Snow System prop, for example, then in Smart Content (Files) expand the Default categories and select Materials, there should be 6 material presets to choose from. (Select materials, otherwise you get every shader, light set, pose, etc. that could be compatible). Switching to Products should show the Iray Blizzard.

I loaded up the Snow Prop, selected it in the scene tab, and then went over to Smart Content tab, selected Materials, and checked filter by context.

But no materials show up when I filter by context in the Smart tab, except for a product called "SY A Big Mess for Genesis 8". I guess the materials from that product can be applied to the snow. But no Iray Blizzard materials can be found under "Materials" ... or even under "All Products" for that matter.

Any other products flaky? Could be a database problem, especially since it used to work, and now it doesn't and you didn't change anything that would have affected it, to your knowledge. Might be time for drastic measures, like resetting the database and re-importing all metadata. But wait a while before doing that. Someone else might have an insight into the problem.

No other products are flaky. Just Blizzard that I know of.

But may I ask, will re-importing metadata delete the Favorites category that I created? I added a lot of my favorite wardrobe items, props, materials, etc. to a "Favorites" category that I created. I would hate to loose that by re-importing. But I will wait to see if anyone else has a solution first.

They did update this product and changed some things if I recall.

The custom categories would be in the User Data files, which you should export from the Content DB Maintenance menu. They will end up in the Runtime/Support folder with the rest of the metadata. Importing them will restore your favorites along with everything else.

Yes, it was updated a little over six months ago. No problems with it on my end.
