Collision detection/mesh editing?

RexRedRexRed Posts: 1,374

How do I get the grass and flowers to not stick up through the body in this one in DAZ Studio? He is a Genesis figure.

Is anyone familiar with this grassy scene prop can I delete particular blades of grass or is there some sort of body collision detection I can turn on so they don't show?

How do I take the grass object into a mesh editor sorry, I am kinda new at this. :)

Yes, that flower is sticking up through his, ahem.

This one is called, "Leaves of Grass"

I just figured out a way to do it, I am not sure it is better than just being able to delete specific pieces of grass but it would be a work around if deleting grass strands is not possible.

In Bryce 3D there are boolean objects.

I make a primitive cube "invisible" then make it negative and make the grass positive (or the other way around, can't remember) and then group them and the cube cuts itself out of the grass.

How would I do this in DAZ Studio?

I am looking at deformers and seeing if that approach might work. :)

  • I've had the same problem and i use this for quick mesh editing inside DAZ. I find it better and easier to use than deformers tbh.

OMG I didn't even know that existed. I might have to brake my non-spending resolution!
