Link? It's way too early for this week's freebies to be  posted yet.

Here it is https://www.daz3d.com/free-3d-models (the freebies page, it's a fairly old model)

  • Uncheck the "hide items I own" if you aren't seeing it.

And yes, the title of the thread scared me for a moment as well!

Holy crudnicks, me too. I'd be dead in the water without them. (I must own 90% of their product catalog going all the way back to Poser Pros...)

  • Worst. Title. Ever. :)

Oh. *Those* freebies. The ones that I usually already have. It's worth checking from time to time though. That page sometimes gets some very useful stuff.

  • Their products include: https://www.daz3d.com/dm-s-memorial ... which can make things a bit confusing. frown

When I want to find free stuff, I use the "price low-high" sort on the main DAZ store page. That pulls all free stuff (that I don't already own) right to the top. wink

When I read the title of the thread, I immediately thought of DM's scene, no thoughts at all about their passing. Of course I've used the scene several times, and see it every time I'm looking for a scene or background.  I can see now though where the title could be rather alarming.

Same, because I had just downloaded it recently.

I know I'm reviving an old thread, but I just had to reinstall DS for a render problem I'm having and have taken the OCD method of re-cataloging every item that comes with the latest DS version and when filing DMs Memorial, I realized I can't fin

Lol ... I think you are right. What's missing are the backgrounds that were supposed to come with the product: https://gcdn.daz3d.com/p/18009/i/memorial_pop8.jpg

Isee them in the zip, in \Content\Runtime\Textures\danieNmarforno\Memorial\DMsMemorialBackgrounds, so they should unpack to \Runtime\Textures\danieNmarforno\Memorial\DMsMemorialBackgrounds - I think they need to be loaded manually, however, they are not HDR environment maps but simply backdrop images.

They are in their own folder: /Runtime/Textures/danieNmarforno/Memorial/DMsMemorialBackgrounds/, but will not show in Studio as they are simply .jpgs. You will have to load separately using the Environment tab pane. Select Type: Backdrop, then click the microthumbnail dropdown to Browse to that folder and pick one.

Thank you. I need to figure out a way to see them in daz so I remember they are there.

What I have done is customize the "Display Document" script to open the folder from within Studio. Instead of a document, it is just the path of the target folder. You can drag and drop the image straight onto the background image control.

    "Display Document [Documentation Center]"

Just change the last line to use the relative path (as shown earlier). Save it with the scene files and run it to open the folder in a file explorer.

I'm pretty sure that they are didi_mc's work. They've used that vendor's work in their promos for years. There are a lot of those on Rendo.
