DAZ Mats for Poser props

DAZ mats for Poser props.

I had DS3 on my computer and was able to write mats for DAZ Studio which with a bit of extra text could be used with Poser figures and props so that they automatically loaded with DAZ mats in DS.

Now I have to use .duf files, does anyone know how or if it is possible to change them so they can be used to load automatically when Poser props are used in DS?

DS4.6 can still use DSA script files for MATs.

It was usually done by having the PZ2, DSA and PNG all having EXACTLY the same name, so the DS ones would be used in DS, and the PZ2 ones would be used in Poser. That can still be done with DUF files too.

:) Thanks, I know that, but when I make props and figures they need extra text added to the DS mat in order for the DS mat to automatically apply in DAZ Studio. I wondered whether anyone knew how to do it.

Actually No, any item that has the Double load Auto option has that little scroll on the texture Icon in DS. A Pz2 load file for the Poser mat will Auto open the DS Mat as long as both files have the same file Name. As shown here....

You two are thinking about loading a DS mat instead of a PZ2 mat, DS still does that with DUF files beside the PZ2. What trumarcar is talking about is loading a DS mat when you load a Poser CR2 or PP2, for that you needed to edit the code in the .DS, .DSA or .DSB files to make that happen. I have the code for DS2 & 3 kicking around here somewhere, and Mike should know what it was as he created it.

I'm not sure if it can be done with a DUF file though.

DS4.6 can save as .dsa -- it's under Save As > Deprecated.
I think Richard Haseltine has been looking into doing the same with .duf, but I don't know that it's feasible, since ..duf files aren't scripted.

And when you save as .dsa you can still use Fixmypcmike's wonderful tutorial here to load Props/Figures with Dazstudio mats:

:-) Thanks very much for all the suggestions. Yes, Bejaymac that is what I meant - thanks for the clarification.

I will try the suggestion to save as a .dsa file, Fixmypcmike and again, thanks very much for the help. :)

Later - YEESSSSSSSSS! Thank you all very much.:-)
