What is the purpose of Default Templates under the surface tab?
Why are they there? What is its function? Is it supposed to serve as some kind of convenience? The DAZ documentation mentions nothing of Default Templates surface.
edit: added a better image that doesn't violate any rules.

Is that a stanard figure? The groups are there to let you make changes across a range of surfaces at once, so yes a conveninece, but I don't recall seeing one set up like that.
Hi Richard,
why did you remove the image?
Now nobody knows what you're talking about !
And btw: A lot of products of the DAZ store have entries in the surface their for the assets named "Default Surface" and aren't related to any surface of the mesh. How to remove those?
I removed the image as it was showing the texture, and the torso texture of a female figure at that.
If you have a left-over Default surface that doesn't own any polygons then you can right-clck delete it in the Tool Settings pane with the Geometry Editor active
It's Genesis 8 Female default figure.
Load a default genesis 8 female into the scene. Navigate to surfaces. I was just curious was the purpose of Default Templates were. How would I use them? What were their original intention and function? It seems like it's supposed to be a convenience thing, but I dont' know what it is.
So, does anyone know what the purpose of Default Templates are under the surface tabs for Genesis 8?
