Load not working but merge will, why?

As for the mad hatter/hatter set I couldn't get to work .. 
why didn't I think of looking for the base set here
People>Michael 4>Clothing>Sethos 
but even in that folder the items won't load. (and no merge option).

In fact in all the M4 clothes .. if the only option is Load instead of Merge, I get nothing.

and yes, the item was downloaded an reinstalled early this morning. 1/16/20 2:23 am.

    You are talking about https://www.daz3d.com/the-hatter and https://www.daz3d.com/wonderland-mad-hatter-for-m4 ?

    You have to load the clothes first from your Poser Formats Runtimes ...

    If you go to People>Michael 4>Clothing>Sethos  you will only get the DazStudio material files.

    finally found them..  apparently bobbie25 is Barbara Brundon ...listed as the artist .. said name is not in the folder .. argh. 
    so there location is Figures>Bobbie25>B25AWL>MadHatter
    well, the jacket socks pants and top are there.. the hat must be in props
