Hi

I am making a set of speakers and I am having problems with the sides of the shelf speaker, they have a slight curve and the texture is not mapping how I want it to.

can anybody help please?

Thanks
Adrian

No, this is what a UV map looks like. It seems that there are messed up UV's and its not carrying the texture properly.

    Ah!

I am not using a UV map then.

I am making the models in Bryce and sending them to daz studio, then adding the textures through the layered image editor.

I guess that's where I am going wrong then. Will I need to send it hexagon and create a UV map for it or can I do that in daz?

Are you using primitives in Bryce? I'll try to get someone that knows Bryce to help you out.

Unfortunately Bryce primitives aren't uvmapped as such, because Bryce uses procedural textures, or parametric mapping for image based textures. So yes you would need to take it into something like Hex to give it some UV coordinates.

I just use Bryce to make the shapes, then once they are cut I send them as white textures.

    I was just thinking,

"if I export as an object (it will create it as a full solid object) (rather then broken pieces ) will this allow me to map the whole area as one rather then six seperate different pieces."

    ?

I have been using "Send to Daz" in Bryce, I am presuming that is the bridge you are talking about.

Yes that's the bridge. I'm racking my brain trying to figure out what your issue can be. I map everything myself and texture it so I've never ran into this sort of problem. I also use a modeling app to do my models. I have no experience using primitives.

ok I have done it :) I don't know how I have done it or why its done it, but its done it.

I had to import the wood image into Bryce, add it as a texture material.
Then I added it onto the shelf speaker surface.

I then exported the shelf speaker as a .3ds file.

    I opened it in hexagon.
Selected the sides mesh and sent that to daz studio.

In daz I matched the material surface to the other sets of textures as the floor standing ones.

And then the texture I originally was trying to paste on to it...
    Pasted on to it.

    Now my head hurts :)
