Is there a way to rearrange the order of items in the Scene pane?

After looking at the list of objects in the Scene tab (i.e. the sets, props, characters, cameras and stuff) I decided I wanted to shift one of the items in the root listing (i.e. something that's not parented to one of the other things in te Scene pane) up higher on the listing. That is, I had a couple of cube prims I'd placed into the scene (then hid from scene view), some cameras, another cube prim (that I'd also hid from scene), and then some more cameras. It looked silly to have one cube prim in the middle of a bunch of cameras in the listing, and I figured there had to be a way to rearrange the order they're listed to me, in this case, to simply shift the one out-of-place cube prim out of the middle of the list of cameras and place it up where the other two cube prims are on the list. Right-clicking the prim on the listing didn't show any kind of "move this upwards or downwards in the listed-objects" option, and there doesn't seem to be an obvious indication of such an option in any drop down menus at the top. I tried left-clicking the item on the list, and dragging it around inside the Scene pane, but all that seems to do is let you drop it onto some other item IN the Scene pane... which then parents it to that, which is NOT what I was trying to do. I then unparented it and it went back to where it had been on the Scene tab, i.e. back to being in the middle of that list of cameras.... but then I found that that object had lost the coordinates that I'd earlier placed it at, and had gone to world-center. That is, all the positions and rotations had reverted to 0.
Is there an easy way to rearrange the order of objects in scene tab, while leaving them in the root of the Scene listing (i.e. not parented to something)?

The Scene pane option menu has commands for ordering and sorting - the lined button in the top corner, or right-click the tab.
I juggle them around with parenting and unparenting to nulls
it is annoying
my other softwares just let me drag stuff around, admittedly mostly to the bottom only but one can still arrange stuff that way
I'm not even sure what "the option menu" is in this context. Do you mean the so-called "hamburger button"? With the Scene tab open, I click that, and the only thing I see in there that seems to have anything to do with the-order-of-stuff is the Reorder selection, which has stuff like Lock Bone Order, Selected Children Up, Selected Children to Top, and so on, but with the cube prim selected in the Scene pane, when I click on Reorder > Selected Children Up, gives no visible results. I'm guessing then that this function instead then has to do with taking stuff that are a child of some other object and moving them out of being a child of that object.... and which clearly isn't what I'm looking for. I don't see any button or dropdown named "options" or "option menu" or such, though. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong place? 0o
You don't see a "Sorting" option in that menu?
I see a Sorting option, but all it has is Do Not Sort, Sort Ascending, and Sort Decending... which sounds like something to have DS rearrange the entire list, not let me manually move ONE item on the list up or down within the list to where I want it. Do Not Sort is checkboxed in there.
Yes, I think it is limited to child bones - you coudl make a feature
