Layered Image Editor

Been playing around with this to create facial tattoos. However, I'm having trouble with the lips. I've changed the diffuse color on the lips to give model red lipstick, with a second layer on top that's solid white. The white simply lightens the red lipstick where tattoo is.
Is there away to make the lips solid white where the tattoo is? I've tried setting the base diffuse color to white, opening the LIE and making the diffuse changes to each layer there to no avail.
Changing blend modes tosses an error during rendering.

What are your current settings? If its blending with the base layer it either has less than full opacity or you've told it to blend it with the skin layer, which will change the result. Post your settings and we'll see if we can't figure this one out with you.
If these aren't the settings you want let me know. Full opacity with the default channel blend.
It is not problem how you set LIE, I think.
the problem is you change diffuse color to red, then add layered image texture.
it should be multiple about all Lip surface group faces.
I think you need to change diffuse texture of
bottom layer lip color to red, then add one layer for white bar IN LIE.
then keep diffuse color to white.
If I need to make it in LIE
I may add one more layer between face.jpg and the white bar layer,
color red with no image, mode multiple with bottom layer,
next add white bar layer ,mode addictive
like that layer 1 (white bar, Alpha channel blend)
lyaer 2 red color image (multiple or add, alpha channel with opacity, you check how it work)
lyaer 3 bottom face texture
in lip surface of diffuse texture. then keep difuse color=white.
It looks like the main image is a greyscale. I assume you're using the Diffuse setting to change the colour to red? If so, note that this will change EVERYTHING on the diffuse channel, including all of the layers you have added in the LIE. If you want the lips red and the markings white, I suggest colourizing the face texture red and using the LIE in the same manner as you are currently.
Alternatively, you can use a geometry shell and use an opacity mask on the lips to hide the non-white parts.
Thank you you both very much. :-)
I tried both methods and got the results I wanted both times. While I can do the texture editing in Photoshop, it's wonderful to know this can be done completely in LIE, since that lessens the chances of me messing up the original texture when I start using higher quality maps.
