Something is slowing down Daz for me

For some time now, every new character I have in a scene is slowing down Daz quite a lot. This happens also when loading a new scene from a scene with multiple characters. It also happens even if all characters are hidden.

Any ideas what is doing this?

Check under edit > preferences if you still have acceleration of your video card. Thats my first guess.

Where would be the video card accelaration in the preferences. I am looking in all the tabs and not seeing it.

Also, is the video card helping also in the viewport? Isn't it only for the render part? (/NVidia Iray in viewport)

    In the Interface tab.

No, the GPU is also used for the plain Viewport, but  via OpenGL rather than CUDA. It can also be sued as an OpenCL device for dForce simulations.

I really don't see anything with video card acceleration.

Not behind the daz computer right now, but what happens when you select "current hardware features" ? If I recall correctly it should show your video card somewhere.

  • Display Optimisation is the main one you want.

These are my hardware features, it mentions Open GL./

I see Display Optimization is at best.

I guess something else is slowing Daz down ?

  • I have just had a similar problem, I found that I had Interactive Upbate switched on on a couple of items in the Mesh Smoothing settings which are found in the Parameters tab under General. Might be worth checking, but it is a bit of a chore if you have to go through a whole scene.

I have not found Mesh Smoothing in any of my scenes.
