Caprice hair - how to get it darker

Hey there, I love Caprice hair like so many other OOT products, but this one I can't get properly dark, even when choosing the darkest color (05, black). It always stays greyish/silvery as in the picture. I assume it has to do with shininess, and I tried fiddling around with the settings and the blending options but with no good result. Is there a trick to get it darker?

May need to tweak glossiness, top coat, metal flakes, reflectivity, or a combination some or all of them. May also need to fiddle with various texture maps.
Could also just darken the hair in post-production.
Good ideas, thanks! I tried them with no result so far.
I just found a much easier solution, though - using the 05 black from OOTs Lainey hair gets much darker results, though not quite what I'm looking for. I'll experiment more.
If the hair has a specular map, try reducing its strength.
