Issues with dials/sliders

Hi everyone, I suspect there might be nothing you can do to help me, but I just want to be certain before giving up.

So I bought Lyrra's height dials for Michael and Victoria 4 and they wouldn't apply, specifying a 'no current channel for valueOP' error. Only then did I realise that on the product page it lists Poser as the compatible software arghhhh. Is there anyway to make them work? No worries if not, I'll just learn my lesson and move on.

Have you run the bat file, you need to do that everytime you install new morphs for the 4th gen figures. I'm sorry I can't remember anymore where you find it.

If you can't get them to work Daz have a 30 days return policy you just need to contact Customer services via Help> Contact us.

I think the file you need to run is DzCreateExPFiles-M4.bat, and the same except V4 for Victoria 4

Hi, I bought them from Renderosity, not the Daz Store. Since I had to download the files to try them out, I don't think a refund is possible. They are .PZ2 and .PMD files. Link to product here

Ahh, no sorry rendo don't have a returns policy. If running the bat file doesn't work, I'm really sorry to say that you may be stuck. You could try contacting Lyrra she may well be able to help, she's a pretty helpful vendor.

You may get more help if you move your thread over to the Poser Forum.
To do this clcik on the gear icon in your first post, the one next to the star,  then click on edit and on the next screen change the Category, over on the left hand sie drop down

  • In general the Power Loader script should render the batch file redundant, though you won't get the fine detail options wthout the PowerLoader metadata.

In this case, .pmd files are Poser external morph files rather than the supported ExP system and DS can't handle injecting those via script (Daz did try for a while, but every Poser update changed the syntax used - which is why older Poser versions can't load items saved from newer versions in the affeced range). I think you need to get in touch with the vendor, with luck they may be willing to make a DS-compatible version using ExP or at least to offer you a refund.

  • Thanks everyone, I suspected this might be the case. My own fault for not reading the product page. I'll get in touch with vendor and see if they can offer a solution.

  • so these dials are ummm... best DS equivalent is some fancy ERC stuff.  Theres no actual mesh related infromaiton in there unlike the mor normal morphs that change the shape of things. if there was a DS native V4/M4 it would be realtively easy to recreate these.  The Height dials were made using technology added in later versions of poser to isnert a new dial channel.

However these products will do essentially the same thing and as I recall they work just fine in DS

However you do not get a handy dandy dial - these are brute force rescaling of the figures parts.

Hope thats helps some. Sorry I didn't see this earlier .. I was more or less afk all of december and january while my wife was recovering from surgery. (she's fine now, back at work)
