Rendering extremely slow

Ok DazStudio is killing me. After the help of several from a Daz3D fb group about improving render quality I made 2 more renders of better quality. I needed to increase the pixel aspect. The first rendered in about 5 minutes the 3rd render of higher quality took about 30min.
A few days later after making some improvements on the scene from my 3rd render I tried to render the modified scene and nothing happened. The percentage never moved from 0, even though it said it was rendering no image ever rendered and either the rendering box would just drop or after hours I would just exit out of Daz.
I thought my render was too complex for my gpu, (probably not) a single character with a glowing sphere prop and light halo effect, boom lighting, and several cameras.
So I made this really simple image and lowered the pixel aspect. And I am still having rendering issues. The progression bar has been at 0 for the past hour but the image did come up in the render window.

By pixel aspect do you mean dimensions? If in doubt I recommend a small render of a primitive, such as a spehere, from Create>New Primitive just to be sure that soemthing isn't fundamentally broken.
