Freckles.duf - the DAZ Snipe hunt

Ok, did my best to search for this topic, but my forum-Fu is quite rusty... so be gentle if I missed it please.

 

Where the heck is "freckles.duf"??  every single G8F female character I have (which is too many) generates an error because it cannot be found!

... they are looking in the My Library\people\Genesis 8 Female\ folder - and it is not there. I have searched the entire Genesis 8 Female folder and subfolders... I have looked back in all the old install files... and I don't see it any of them either (all the way back to the Genesis 8 Essentials installers).

any help??

Sounds like you probably installed a freebie from Renderosity.

Open your Content directory, then head to "data > DAZ 3D>Genesis 8>Female>Morphs", in there you should find a folder called "Felldude", do yourself a favour and delete that folder.

Sadly most of his freebies are poor, either bad pathways, morph dials set to 1, or movement across the whole mesh when you dial any of his small morphs.

and deleted!  ... I am astounded (and somewhat afraid) at the level of your knowledge! LOL

I'm a bit of a trouble shooter, I'm more into the technical side of things and I've been doing this sort of thing for over 20 years, so when I find a freebie that's causing issues I remember it, especially as it's likely one of my friends will download it and I'll be the one that has to fix it.

I explained to him how to fix the original issues with this freebie, he has updated it a couple of times since and messed up something each time, current version is looking for TIFF files in one location while he supplied JPG in another location, sadly some people just don't learn from thier mistakes.
