You can edit sbh hair under edit -> object menus. If that's what you mean. You could save sbh hair as a support asset I assume.

If I understand your question correctly, any saved hair can be used as a preset for a new hair style.

    Example:

You create a hair style that is shoulder length with a center part for a G8F character. In the scene tab, make sure the hair node is a child of the character (it does not need to be parented to the head) and change the name to "G8FShoulderLengthCenterPart" for example. Save this as a wearable preset.

In a new scene, load a G8F figure of choice. Load your G8FShoulderLengthCenterPart hair. In the editor, you make whatever changes you like - say combed back waist length. In the scene tab, rename the hair to "G8FCombedBackWaistLength" for example and save it as a new wearable preset.

This can get a bit tricky with multi node hair or hair created on a cap for multi generation use - but the process is the same.

Personally, I have several basic shape styles in my library that I can quickly reshape to my needs.

    Hope this helps.

The editor uses neither, the shader applied will depend on the current render engine.

It dont think it needs to be a child of anything...

It does if you want to save as a wearable. Otherwise, you can save however you want.

  • Where is this wonderful editor located? I'm just now hearing about it.

you can save it as a wearable unparented...

    Create > SBH hair

    or

    Edit > Edit SBH Hair
