Moving preset directory

My preset directory is installed into the program directory and weights 14go.

I would like to move it to another drive to save room on my system disk.

I know there is a file to modify to point Carrara to the new location, but I can't remember it. Does anyone knows?

There is an icon on the top right of your browser/library: clic and "add a folder" (ajouter un dossier, en français).

I think I remember a reference to what Philemo is talking about.  Either Misty or Stezza has a post about a text file that can be changed.

 

Rather than move the whole presets folder, I merely created a new presets folder and moved some stuff to that, as per Dudu above.  If done this way, however, some of the subfolders are best added individually because you have to designate what kind of content is in the subfolder.  For example, the new leaf folder has to be designated for objects:leaves, while the plant folder has to be designated for objects:plants.

Thanks Misty. That said, it looks like we 'might' be able to change the default "My ____" folders to show up from a different drive on this line of the file Misty mentions above:

disk "C:\\Users\\darta_000\\Documents\\DAZ 3D\\"

and then change "C" to the drive in question, like

disk "E:\\Users\\darta_000\\Documents\\DAZ 3D\\"

for example

years ago I added a folder structure to my D:/ edited the Carrara preferences file in notepad

find and replace the preset

and replaced with this -

AFol "D:\\3DSoftware\\DAZ 3D\\My Presets\\My Items\\"
