I made an outfit for Mavka and have no idea how to go about rigging the clothing in Daz so it will work...
Someone told me to use the figure setup tool...so I went ahead and brought it not only to find that it wont install...but that I didn't need it...Just wasted money I never really had...As when I opened DS4.6 I found under window/panes/figure setup...That's all good...but I have no idea how to use it...
Hoping someone can help me...

If you bought it within the past 30 days, return it and get your money back.
But as to rigging...

Thank you so much for your reply...and yes I have asked for a credit so I can buy something I really need!
Hi,, I want to confirm which product Mavca you really bought?
Can you show me link page?
it is useful other user may easy help you how to rig.
If it is Mavca for genesis, I believe the product is one of morph for genesis.
(though it is really hard work I know)
When the character is morph for genesis, there is no diffrence,
it is DAZ figure or not. (genesis is DAZ figure, you know,
then make clothing for genesis morph, it means you make clothing for genesis)
then If I rig clothing for DAZ genesis (include Mavica for genesis, or other character shape)
you may need not use figure set up tool,
but you need to use transfer utility at start point. to copy and weight map from genesis.
(or your figure, which need to be saved as DS triax weight figure, not for poser cr2 figure)
then adjust weight maps by node weight map tools.
these creater items which need to make rigged clothing for daz triax figure are
already included in daz studio.
Then about figure set up tool, yes we never need to buy the product ^^;
it was already included in daz sutdio.
but basically when making rigged clothing or hair for daz genesis or triax figures,
I think we seldom use Figure set up tool,
if your Mavca is Cr2 type figure,
(not daz triax wieght) I do not know how to rig clothing for cr2, in daz studio,
but there should be way I think,,many ds user have been used cr2 figure,
so that they may know how to clear. (but I have not seen clear documents,
how to rig clothing for cr2 figure, though I may not hope it)
And I know, the shop page was really confuse me untll I understand many things of daz studio ,,
but usually the refund about product ,daz support work well.
so that do not worry, so much, but now DAZ support team work hard in march madness campain,,
you must send support ticket, then if you feel smothing wrong, send ticket again,
I have experienced about one product, untill I asked again one month later , I have not gain any refund.
Yes my Mavka is the cr2 figure from Renderosity...that's why I asked about non Daz figures...
Ah,, sorry. I am afraid it.
I serched same tutrorial before (to rig clothign for V4) but I can not find any tutoriall how to rig clothing for
non triax figure.
then I thought there was some tutoriall in old art zone wiki,
but can not find it clear show the way.
(And,, I can not believe daz still working to rocover links of old art zone wiki)
DAZ may not hope to new comer like me, who try to rig clothings for V4 M4,,or poser figures , I think
On the other hand, DAZ still sell many many products for old generation figure ,and poser flie type
prop , scene sets, for ds only user too.
Thank you for trying to help though:-)
Ok Kerya found the answer...I had to remove all the alternateGeom (everything highlighted) from the files...now it works in Daz too!!
I use the Mavka figure in DS4 with no problems. There was a alternate geometry problem with earlier versions of DS4 but I believe that was fixed in later versions.
To rig clothing for the cr2 version you will need to use the legacy rigging. There was a tutorial in the archived forums by Cliff using Spuggles but I haven't currently got a link for it.
Mavka works without problems in DS4.6 - but if you rig with legacy rigging, the alternate geometry information gets pasted to the bodyparts below the hip - thighs, shins, feet, toes ... whatever.
And DS gets thrown when it tries to load that alternate geometry (which was meant for the hip - it's the genitals version of the hip) into shins ...
