How to create new group for dials and what's the point of setting favorites?

I'm trying to organize dials. Favorites for all I can see are pointless. I set some up, but when I reloaded the scene the next time, poof, they were gone. Can't get any favorite I set to ever be there again within one scene much less globally. I saw somewhere you can set favorites within a character preset I guess, but that seems useless because by the time you set your favorites, you've already gone through and shaped your character. Setting favorites for a character preset only seems useful for posing dials not shaping. And even then I'd have more use for them as global favorites rather than just character favorites.
So I figured out how to move dials to different groups, but how do you create your own groups to stick them in? Thats probably a more useful way to organize them than favorites anyway.

Tried like crazy to figure it out, finally gave up and posted a question, went back into DAZ, and immediately figured it out. Go figure.
Now I just hope the groups stick globally. Seems like they should the way it's set up.
OK new question how do I lock a group tree so it doesn't automatically close every time I drag a new dial into it? Persistent group expansion doesn't seem to do it.
Favourites not saving/loading from saves was an issue but it is fixed in the Current Public Build, at least.
