Well, if you install both the DAZ Studio Release and the DAZ Studio Public BETA you should know the the PostgreSQL CMS will also be available to you in both Release and Public BETA versions. So then, install the PostgreSQL CMS Release via DIM and it installs OK. Then install the PostgreSQL CMS Public BETA and it installs OK but you have a problem because now the PostgreSQL CMS Release says it now needs installed again. That is OK. You can leave it uninstalled or you can install it again and soon the PostgreSQL CMS Public BETA is uninstalled. You can then leave the PostgreSQL CMS Public BETA uninstalled and that is OK. You can only have one PostgreSQL CMS installed at a time on one computer, if you have tried to install both then the 1st one installed will be uninstalled when you install the other one.
All you should need to do is select one (and only one) version of PostgreSQL in Install Manager and let it run - not that the Valentina to PostgreSQL conversion tool is not PostgreSQL itself. If that doesn't work then we need more details of what is happening, and of your system specifications and your security software.
Merged threads.
I tested everything but I still get the same message from PostgreSQL CMS indicating that there is no valid connection. For the bone it's Windows 10 64 bit and bitdefender Total seurity anti virus, I don't know what to add I really can't understand how we install this damn PostgreSQL CMS
I did not specify that I have Daz Studio 4.12 pro
Well if CMS is not running then you will see a blue button on yoiur Smart Content tab that say to "Start CMS". For some reason my CMS has been failing motre frequently too (well twice so far) since the last CMS / DIM program updates.
If after clicking that blue button & exiting & restarting DAZ Studio it still doesn't show the products you have installed in your Smart Content tab then you should uninstall CMS via DIM, reboot PC, then install CMS via DIM. CMS causes some Windows SDKs to be installed that you'll see short lived popup dialogues showing to the install progress but don't cancel those install dialogues.
I did what you told me nonesuch00 but I can't activate PostgreSQL CMS. I think it should not be installed in the right folder, can you tell me which folder I should install it in?
Oddly enough, even though I have DIM, CMS, DAZ Studio Release 4.12.X.X, and DAZ Studio Public BETA 4.12.1.55 they are not im my Windows 10 Unistall Program list in the Control Panel.
My PostgreSQL CMS install folder is here:
CMS here: C:\Program Files\DAZ 3D\PostgreSQL CMS
DIM here: C:\Program Files\DAZ 3D\DAZ3DIM1
DAZ Studio Release here: C:\Program Files\DAZ 3D\DAZStudio4
DAZ Studio Public BETA here: C:\Program Files\DAZ 3D\DAZStudio4 Public Build
It may well be installed but not communicating - I can't recall if BitDefender has given other users trouble n the past or not. If you start DS then open Task Manager (rght-click on TaskBar), click More Details if it issn't, and scroll down through the list of Background Processes do you see several postgresql processes?
If it's installed & running then in the Windows Task Manager under "Details", "Processes", or "Users" you'll see that PostgreSQL is running.
The full path is C:\Program Files\DAZ 3D\PostgreSQL CMS\bin\postgres.exe
And you'll see under "Users" that it should be running under your account name that you logged in as and with multiple copies of it running.
It could be that you inadvertently set an "Account Control" or "Windows Firewall" or "Windows Defender" app access or network security setting to be too restictive to allow postgreSQL to function. If you've restricted access to your file system, network, or what individual apps have access to network or file system resources other than what Windows 10 defaults to you may need to change those back or edit those restrictions to specify all of the postgreSQL processes access. I'm not talking about turning off microphone & camera & network access to things like Siri, Cortana, Alexa, Skype, and so on, that isn't going to cause you such a problem like editing file system access to no apps and you wind up breaking almost everything.
PostgreSQL CMS and Daz studio are well installed in the same folder as nonesuch00, I launch the task manager with daz studio open but no postgreSQL CMS background. I also deactivated my anti virus but still nothing, so I uninstall postgreSQL CMS I restarted my pc before reinstalling it with DIM (always with anti vuirus disabled) but nothing works postgreSQL CMS does not always launch not
Go to:
C:\Users\<Your Windows 10 User Name>\AppData\Roaming\DAZ 3D\cms\ContentCluster
and then go to PM me so you can arrange to email me the file: dblog.txt
I'd say to post it here but you may what to keep the name of your Windows user accounts from being public knowlege with all the web spiders collecting such things.
