DUF file making changes to DazStudio ?

I'm more of a casual when it comes to Daz, opening it a few times a month, but today I noticed that my Author name for the save files was changed to something completely different. I do use quite a few freebies from the likes of renderosity and deviantart, but because Daz is not a daily thing for me it's hard to tell what asset caused this change...which made me think what else it could change..

I did not install any programs or plugins related to Daz or assets with installers, so I'm thinking that a duf file changed it when I loaded it into the scene. Can duf files make changes to Daz other than just loading the asset data ?

    A .duf file won't, a script could (but probably wouldn't) - and a .duff ile could load as cript. It's possible that a system glitch (or overactive security sftware) affected the saved value; it's also worth checking that you are using the same version (General Release vs. Public Build)

    I probably should have mentioned that the Author name that it was changed to was in Chinese characters..and a lot of them, at least 1000, thus me being worried. It was an easy fix since all I had to do was go back in the Preferences tab and change it, but I never installed anything in Chinese on my system, ever, and it only seemed to have affected Daz. I did several system scans with kaspersky/hitmanpro, but they didn't find anything, and if a duf file can't do that, then yeah...

    Apparently that happens when the file the data gets stored in becomes corrupt.

    Do you know which file that is ? I could still load all my scenes and whatnot just fine.
