A question about tiling

Forgive me for sounding particularly stupid but can someone please clarify what exactly the horizontal and vertical tiles and horizontal and vertical offset parameters effect apart from the base image map. Do they work on say normal, bump and displacement maps also or do those have to be changed separately?

Tiling always works on all maps.
The tiling in the Surfaces Tab affects everything at once on that surface. If you want to do each bit separately you need to drill into each map separately and choolse the image Editor and Instance Tiling
Ohh thanks for clearing that up. I was seeing a tutorial where the presenter was adjusting the instancing for displacement map separately from the rest. I failed to notice that he did the same for the base image also.
