Prop (bar counter) increasing render time by 25+ minutes

Morning,

I am wondering if there is a way of significantly reducing render-time for a prop from Bar Interior - specifically a run of the bar countertop - which is increasing the render-time on a scene of mine by 25 minutes (If I remove the countertop, the scene renders in 7 minutes)?

Are there any settings (surface settings perhaps, or other) that can chip away at this prop's contribution to long render times?

Thanks.

I had issues with this set a while back and found it seemd to be sucking up memory like it was going out of fashion! Part of the issue seemed to be all the custom shaders and the fact they seemed to overlap one another.

It is a beautiful set, and very detailed, but it does suck up memory. For this reason I made a modification to A Bright Loft, to serve as the bar space area, and I just inserted the "L" shape bar counter (marble with wooden base) from the Bar Interior package. Just adding that increased the render-time so significantly.

I don't have the item...but looking at the promo pics, the countertop is reflective...and not using a reflection map, so that means environmental reflections.

So what is your Max Ray Trace Depth setting in your render options?

And if it happens to have a custom shader for the marble that uses SSS, then you'll need to play with those settings.

But really, a half an hour or so isn't THAT long of a render time.
