I haven't had much luck searching the forum so I'll ask here: I've just installed DS so a new hard drive, in a completely isolated PC. The PC has no access to any other machine, or network, and definitely not to the internet itself. The only contact it has with the outside world is via a USB drive that I use to transfer files.
I have installed DS so I know that works okay.? But how do I register the software?
Is there any point downloading the Install Manager? If I download items from my account and save them to USB, can Daz read them off the USB and install them?
TIA
Steve

You can enter the serial number to activate the pro Bundle features via Help_About isntalled plug-ins. The same is true for other Daz-branded plug-ins, some third-party plug-ins use different systems and I don't know if they can be activated off-line, or how if so.
Registration - The online registration is only required to use Daz Connect, which allows direct download and install of store products within Studio; not required or viable for an offline system' - I don't know if Studio still requires a serial number - if so, you'll find it under 'My Account' -> 'Serial Numbers' with the title Daz Studio 4.x Pro [Free]. Some other purchase items will require serial numbers as well - I have a wordpad document on my usb drive that I copy all of the serial numbers to.
Product download/Install - My system is offline as well. I run two copies of DIM. The first copy, on my laptop, is used to download to a usb drive. The second copy, on my main system, uses the download folder from the usb drive to install the products to my system. If you do this you need to keep the downloaded files on the usb drive! This lets DIM (on the connectable system) know you've already downloaded them, and allows DIM to notify you of any updates.
There's more information on how I configure DIM and Studio here. There's been a change in DIM - the process described in this uses the "Advanced Settings" in DIM.
Steve, I use an off line Win7 machine, and as already mentioned, it's merely a matter of installing from the USB stick and entering the registration number. All content has to be manually installed from zip files too.
Regards,
Richard.
You can also install DIM, then download the zips and place them in the DIM Package Archive folder.
It doesn't open ANYTHING new for me! It opens Ibis Paint X. I don't know why it does that, is it because I am using a chromebook??
Why does my Ibis paint X app open when i go to open Daz?????? It's getting really annoying.
