If you are talking about using your own photos as backgrounds or backdrops, there are two ways to do that:

    1. You may simply add them as a backdrop using the backdrop options menu item in DAZ Studio, choosing "image" and browsing to the location of the desired image on your hard drive. The problem with this approach is that the user has no control over the placement or scaling of the image within the scene - what you see is what you get.

    or ...

    2. You can check the aspect ratio of your image and create a plane primitive in DAZ Studio with the same aspect ratio. Then, with the plane selected, open the Surfaces tab and use the image in the diffuse or base colour channel. The big advantage of this approach is that there will be no stretching or distortion of the image (as long as you don't mess with the x, y or z scales individually), and the plane itself can be scaled, moved, rotated, etc. as desired.

  • to animate or render people or whaterver

  • If you are wanting to take a photo and animate elemnts of it, that isn't what Daz Studio does - it is a 3D staging and rendering application, starting from 3D models and (mainly) producing 2D output in the form of images or animations.

Don't forget, there's a few face transfer tools available which may be what they're after.

Note to OP, there's a couple face transfer tools available, though I don't have any experience outside of the free-but-limited one that appears to be included by default, so you're mileage will vary depending on which one you decide to use.

That's its old location - it's now Window>Panes(Tabs)>Environment, set the type to Backdrop, and click the icon next to the colour picker to get a menu including the option to Browse for an image.

  • no results came up for what I'm talking aboit when I searched for spine or realusion. I have the face trasnfer software

  • face transfer you can use to do 3D versions of your faces for DAZ renders but you need to find hairs or use the strand based hair to style to match and dress them in DAZ clothes etc
