What's wrong with her face??

Any suggestions as to what is going on here?

That's most probably the (transparent) hair cap intersecting with the figure's head. Try adding a smoothing modifier or making the hair cap a bit bigger with morphs or scaling so it doesn't intersect with the head anymore.

  • How do I add a smoothing modifier? Strangely, there is no scaling option for the hair.

A smoothing modifier can be added to the hair under Edit > Figure > Geometry > Apply Smoothing Modifier. You should now see a Mesh Smoothing parameter under the Parameters tab. Applying the smoothing modifier may be enough all by itself to solve the problem. If not, expand the Mesh Smoothing parameter and choose Collision. Now set the collision item to your base figure (human) and that should do it. You can also adjust the number of smoothing iterations or collision iterations, but, for the problem with the hair cap that shouldn't be necessary.

As for the scaling option for the hair, you must expand the node heirarchy for the hair and select the "head". There should be a scaling option shown - a very little dab should do you.

You don't always need a smoothing modifier. You can also just click on the hair and go to parameters or shaping, where there'll be an option to "adjust forehead depth". Adjust the depth and it will disappear.

  • that worked thanks so much

    Hi SixDs,

Does this sort of thing work with dForce too? I get poke through a lot if I alter the body shape i.e....body size, fitness ect... and then dForce.
