Face Transfer plugin fails to load

Hi, i recently bought Face Transfer Unlimited. I followed the driections for manual installation and its keeps saying Plugin Failed to Load. Its says the plugin isnt a Daz studio product or not compatible with this version of Daz studio. I have it updated to 4.12. What am i doing wrong?

    This bit, I think:

    Face Transfer pane

    • Fixed an issue with requisite libraries (on Windows) missing on some user's machines, causing the plugin to fail to load
      • "Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015, 2017 and 2019" is now included with the standard distribution
  • Is this what is used to imput personal photos?

No, the fix is that you don't need to manually install that library if you don't already have it.

  • Where is it supposed to be at in Daz Studio?

  • Where is it supposed to be at in Daz Studio?

Only available for PC - Windows 64-bit.

To launch the pane, go from the top Windows > Panes > Face Transfer, then dock it where you want it.

  • I've downloaded and instaled it. How do I use it? I've tride dragging pics from my files folder on my PC and dropping them into the scene, and it tells  the importer cannot be found. But as I said, I DO have it

  • Forgive me if I'm misunderstanding the replies, but I'm not seeing any actual answers or solutions.

Have you tried installing the DS beta, in case the MS libraries are missing as dscussed above?

Its not there, thanks anyway. Im not sure what to do now

Another question, i upgraded to Windows 10 since i needed to do that anyway but now the Daz viewport is all gray, how do i get it back to the blue with the perspective lines?

  • Actually it's Window>Style>Customise Style you want for the colours.

  • Ah, two ways, okay.

  • Nothing is working, i have the serial number i just cant put it in, and i cant get anything on the screen. Thanks anyway, i have another idea ill post in another thread

  • Have you installed the current Public Build? If not try that, it may be that your system lacks the needed MS Runtime libraries and the public build adds those (which are then avauilable to both versions of DS). https://www.daz3d.com/daz-studio-beta

Is that link the Public Build youre talking about? I downloaded Daz Studio Beta and it didnt help. Thats why i was thinking of un/reinstalling DS im hoping it will reset itself

  • OK, then it may be another issue - you may need to open a support ticket https://www.daz3d.com/help/help-contact-us

    1) Close DAZ3d.

    2) Install the 2015-2019 Microsoft Redistributable package. (Obviously must be x64 version).

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/help/2977003/the-latest-supported-visual-c-downloads

    3) Restart DAZ3d.

    4) Check if plugin loaded in Windows > Tab > Face Transfer

  • FYI - I installed the 2015-2019 Microsoft Redistributable package (VC_redist.x64) after downloading it from tokoy1's link. After rebooting and restaring DAZ Studio (Ver 4.15.0.2), I saw that several issues I had (Face Transfer plugin, Daz to Unreal plugin, Filament workspace display) all went away. The plugins loaded fine and worked okay and the filament draw style in the viewport began displaying characters and objects properly instead of just a gray blank screen. Thanks for the info.
