I do a ton of online shopping and have yet to see when something is going to go off sale.

    This is standard at Renderosity.

Naturally I'd love to have a date showing when an item goes off sale. That shoudn't be that hard to fix imo.

Then I have two other things:
    1. Sometimes I fill my cart before logging in, then it happens more often than not that the cart is empty again, and when I try to refill it I get an error message that I can only buy one of a kind. The only way around that is to add a new item. Then the cart often shows up with the items in it, and I can do my shopping. But sometimes not even that works and I have to clear the cash, change the browser and Bob knows what!

The solution is simple: always log in before adding items to the cart.

I would love a date added to the product info page.

Also really want to know if something is dson compatible so I can use say a m4 skin on gen 2 figures out of the box.

Yeah, I know I can convert it, but it would be helpful.

From a tech perspective, anti-spam measurements for registration. Their databases must be filled with gobs of spam accounts by now, which will only bog down the DB the more it fills.

How would you define a spammer at registration? Like all members they sign up with an email address and a password.

You define a spammer at registration as someone who is signing up via an automated process ('bot') rather than a human. The test to tell a human and computer apart is typically called a 'Turing Test'. Thus a Completely Automated Public Turing test to tell Computers and Humans Apart, or CAPTCHA.

This would help. That said, I don't see MUCH spammage in the forums, so it's going pretty well right now.

Spambots defeat CAPTCHAs all the time (usually by spamming somebody with it in a way that they solve it, then echoing the provided solution).

Better to do a two-stage authentication - have the person who's asking for an account provide an email address, then send instructions on how to complete the second part of the process to that email address. At least DAZ3D will know the email address is valid at the time of account creation.

Seems this could be solved by prompting to login as account or login as guest when adding anything to cart. This would remind customers to login when they add anything to their cart and avoid the issue.

I use an integrated script for stopforumspam.com and a single question that requires a user to answer. The question isn't math or anything basic and is specific to our website (gaming website, so the question is gaming related).

Haven't seen a single bot since implementing those.

I only partially agree with the option to not see things I already own. If it's an option that I can flip on and off, that would be fine.

But my suggestions are slightly different:

    1. When looking at a gallery page (in the store that is) with "Add to Cart" buttons, then for those items I already have (and if I am "signed in") let's change the "Add to Cart" button from green to grey and change the text to "Already Purchased", similar to how that is already done for us on product pages.

    2. For store gallery pages that don't have "Add to Cart", then let's put a little strip, tag, ribbon, or other type of icon on the corner of items I've already purchased. It could be a grey "Already Purchased" ribbon to keep with the grey theme.

By using the Already Purchased tag, you've saved me time from having to click to see if I've purchased.
By still letting me see items I've purchased, I might have a creative idea and go make something.

Yes, I know that to do this, you have to access my account before painting the store gallery page, and that could result in a longer response time for these types of pages with many product thumbnails. But on the flip side, this might actually REDUCE repeated viewing of individual product pages of items that the customer already owns, and could result in a long-term overall reduction of database accesses to customer accounts.

    Agreed.

Okay, here's a compilation of my list thus far:

    1. Ability to sort products by discount %
    2. Add an icon on the product list to indicate one already purchased the product
    3. Add a "combat and actionwear" to the "themes" for clothing, which would include martial arts uniforms, jumpsuits, armor, military uniforms, police/firefighter uniforms, sportswear, pirate outfits, etc.
    4. Option to choose "All Daz Studio" in the compatibility category-- I'm tired of opening two windows in order to browse the product list twice; it's really getting tedious.

I suspect that part of the reason that spam is far less of a problem on this site is because the administrators are hovering over it constantly. I've also noticed that spammers and spambots target well-maintained commercial sites exponentially less than non-commercial and poorly maintained commercial sites.

A "Clear Cart" button. Currently I have 105 items in my cart which I want to remove, and it takes over 30 seconds to remove just one...

Just did that for having the PA names display with the wishlist items. Thanks, Frank.
