Some fun with statistics

Sexy
Is
Overused

(As a word, at least)

Just a bit of fun observation about support text in latest items in the store.

With MM and release of many DOs, it is especially noticeable that somebody at DAZ3D who is writing promo blurbs might have very enamored relations with word 'sexy'. Recently it was a noticeable drop (4 at row) in the use of this word but before the word 'sexy' was way overused in promo blurb texts of too many DAZ3D Originals. I was afraid a week ago that soon the promo blurbs on DO pages will have nothing except word 'sexy' repeated bajollion times over and over again :D

So here is a bit of statistics on where the word 'sexy' was used in promo blurbs.
Clothes/full outfits only considered (no shoes, no texture addons, no jewelery). Just to give a bit of context I also added if the outfit was a skimpwear according to my current definitions but this post isn't a comment on skimpwearness itself, just on use of certain word to describe something.

Little Black Dress for G2F - DAZ3D, 'sexy' but not a skimpwear
Room Service for G2F - DAZ3D, no 'sexy', (if retextured) not a skimpwear
Outer Limits for G2F - DAZ3D, no 'sexy', skimpwear
Bellissima for G2F - DAZ3D, no 'sexy', not a skimpwear
Nocturnal for G2F - DAZ3D, no 'sexy', skimpwear
Cross-back Dress for G2F - DAZ3D, 'sexy', skimpwear
Mars Explorers for Genesis - PA, no 'sexy', not a skimpwear
Blackout for G2F - PA, 'sexy', skimpwear
Playful Flirt Dress G2F - PA, no 'sexy', not a skimpwear (has a very cool "modesty option")
Queen Of Hearts for G2F - PA, no 'sexy', not yet decided if it is skimpwear or not a skimpwear
Domina - Outfit for G2F - PA, no 'sexy', skimpwear
Fayre for Genesis Female(s) - PC item, no 'sexy', not yet decided if it is skimpwear or not a skimpwear
The Skirt - DAZ3D, no 'sexy', not a skimpwear
Fiends Forever Bloodile Swan Outfit for G2F - PA, no 'sexy', not a skimpwear
Goth Rider for G2F - DAZ3D, 'sexy', skimpwear
Autumn for G2F - DAZ3D, no 'sexy', not a skimpwear
Starship Crew Uniforms - DAZ3D, no 'sexy, not a skimpwear/male item
Black Light for G2F - DAZ3D, 'sexy, skimpwear
Night Raven for G2F - DAZ3D, 'sexy, skimpwear
Scent of Jasmine - PA, no 'sexy', skimpwear/not a skimpwear if used for fairies only
SciFi Bodysuit for G2F - DAZ3D, 'sexy', skimpwear
Shredded Dress for G2F - DAZ3D, 'sexy', skimpwear
Short Sleeve Mini Dress for G2F - PA, no 'sexy', (probably) not a skimpwear
Arrowhead for G2F - DAZ3D - sets a record by using word 'sexy' twice in a span of three sentences
Glamorous Riva Outfit - PA, no 'sexy', if retextured not a skimpwear (has longer skirt option)
Hebe Outfit for G2F - PA, no 'sexy', not a skimpwear
RW Persian Princess for G2F - PA, no 'sexy', skimpwear
StreetWear T-Shirt For M6 - PA, no 'sexy', not a skimpwear/male item

Out of 28 full outfits considered:
In PA products used: once, 3.6% from total, 8.3% from base of 12 PA items
In DAZ3D products used: 9 times (as it is used twice in 'Arrowhead'): 32.14% from total and 60% from base of 15 DAZ3D Originals items
In PC products (different team, from what I know) used: zero, 0% from total, 0% from a base of 1 PC item

*my definition for skimpwear are somewhat strict and depends on three factors:
- can I put 11 years old girl/boy in it safely to walk on public (even if we pretend to cosplay)?
- does it require a break from law of physics or big amount of magical double-sized tape to stay on body?
- does it have layout, cuts or similar details that overly accentuate female/male anatomy (breasts, hips, midriff, crouch area) but harm functionality (make clothes colder, for example, give assess to vital organs if in armor, impractical zippers that won't zip up fully etc)?

LOL. This was an amusing post.

Poor Michael. The ladies get many figures, clothing, hairstyles and skimpwear and he gets a space outfit and some shoes. =-)

Perhaps it is time for some sexy skimpwear for M6. =-) I would certainly buy it even if I have no real need. =-)

He also has a shirt :)
But the post isn't a comparison on female/male ratio either :p
(I also didn't compare anything else except full outfits, so there are no hairstyles in this list)

While I like 'warrior skirts' outfits I wonder if it is even possible to create something that isn't 'warrior skirt' outfit for male model and still make it skimpwear. Batman's "Batsuit with nipples" comes to mind, but this is a morph at best, not a full model.

Point taken. Agreed about the sexy wording. Also the sexy sales. =-)

For me, I wouldn't mind real world sexy. Practical sexy underwear can look charming on the right character. It doesn't need special holes or to be made of leather.

Not technically a "warrior skirt" (by which I assume you mean kilt) but I've made some tunic styled male based skimpwear.

Of course the real reason I made so much skimpwear was because when I was using the MD3 beta to make clothing I hadn't purchased Sickle Yield's rigging system yet and getting the autotransfer to produce decent results on anything non-trouser that extends more than a few inches past the crotch is a real pain in the ass. Now that I'm using 3D coat to make stuff and have Sickle Yield's rigging system I should be able to make some long flowing skirts and dresses.
