Window size in the main Viewport window doesn't change for me when I have two cameras in the scene.

Hello Everyone,

After using Daz for years it still surprises me to say the least. If I put more than one camera in a scene (Camera 1 and Default Camera) and try and set one of the cameras for one dimension (say 1:1) and the other for (16:9), Why is it that BOTH cameras then have the same dimension that I just changed for the one camera. Or is the viewport not tied to the camera dimension setting for individual cameras like I was hoping they should be or am I missing something here with a camera setting? I even tried adding a third camera to the scene and when I have one of the cameras selected in the scene tab and set the dimensions for it over in the (Dimension Preset (Global)) drop down of the (Render Settings) tab all three of my cameras then wind up having the same dimension. I can't believe this is how the devlopers meant to design the product. You have more than one camera you should be able to select individual dimensions for each camera.  Please excuse me if this has been adressed before. I tried looking through the forums for a topic like this and came away empty from my search.

The render size and aspect ratio is controlled in Render Settings and applies to all cameras UNLESS you set Use Local Dimensions in the Parameters pane.

    1. Select one of your cameras in the Scene pane.
    2. Open the Parameters pane.
    3. Click on Dimensions in the Parameters pane.
    4. Click the Use Local Dimensions button to change from Off to On.
    5. Enter the Pixel Size and Aspect Ratio that you want to use for that camera.
    6. Repeat steps 1-5 for your other camera.
  • Thanks barbult for your feedback. I will have to check that out next time I am in Studio. From reading your feedback I bet that's what it is. Sounds great and thanks again!

When you add a camera to a scene, are you switching to the camera view in the main viewport?

  • barbult and mclaugh,

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.  Turning on "Use local dimensions" and selecting the camera correctly in the parameters allowed me to correctly change to different viewport camera dimensions.  Thanks again so much to both of you for helping me understand a bit more of the sometimes confusing Daz interface. Each day it's nice to learn something new.

    I am all good now....

    Thanks,

    SW
