Adding different textures

Absolute newbie here.  Here is the dForce Warrior Queen Outfit.

Second file shows what comes up when I type in warrior.

I did buy the dForce Warrior Queen Textures.

This is the color of what I want the outfit to look like (see third file).

These are the choices that I think that I should be able to select somewhere, but I don't know where.

  • Amethyst
  • Dark Emerald
  • Pyrope
  • Saphire

Thanks in anticipation.

They'll be categorized under materials, not with the outfit itself. An alternative is to select a piece of the outfit, open up the surfaces tab and switch to presets. That way, you'll be able to see all the options for that particular component, assuming metadata is set properly.

1: Select the suit in the "Scene" window, within the model that is wearing it...

2: Go to your "Smart content" window...

3: You should see "Materials" as an area you can select. (Be sure you are in the [Files] tab, not the [Products] tab.)

4: In the "Materials" area, you may also see a specific section for IRAY, that is what you want for IRAY, if it exists there.

5: In the items view, you should now see all materials that can be applied to that item. (The outfit or outfit-part. You may have to do this for the boots and swords too. But there may be an "outfit loader" that just loads whole outfit styles to all items.)

If you don't see any, then there may not be any that you own, or it may not be setup for smart content. (Looks new, so it should be. But you may not own a style that you are looking for.)

Hi Scotty, there should be a readme with a file list. It may say seomthing like, 'you can find icons for this....'

The readme is usually on the product page. Safari for mac doen'st show this but Firefox does.

    http://docs.daz3d.com/doku.php/public/read_me/index/50261/start

dForce Warrior Queen Outfit Textures (Core)

    • You can find new icons for loading this product in the following DAZ Studio Folders:

      • “People:Genesis 8 Female:Clothing:Warrior Queen Outfit:Materials:3Delight”

      • “People:Genesis 8 Female:Clothing:Warrior Queen Outfit:Materials:Iray”

    eg.

so you find it in your browser for Content library.

    /People/Genesis 8 Female/Clothing/Warrior Queen Outfit/Materials/Iray/Boots Saphire.duf

    .....

Btw, I know how you feel. We've all been in the same boat. It's frustrating at times but you'll get used to it. Get your head around the difference between Smart Content and your Content Library and you'll be there. :) I only ever use the 'My Daz 3D Library part of the Content library except when I'm really at a lost to where something is because they're not always where you think they might be. It would be really useful if the Search box was a bit smarter.

  • Thanks for all the replies.  One problem that I may be having is that in the upper right corner it says "Login."

When I hit the button I receive the following (see below).

I'm on a brand new iMac that's less than 1 month old.  Im using DAZ 4.16 (as that's as high as the Mac goes).  I learned that after buying some items that needed 4.9.

In my installer, I can see that I've installed the PostresSQL.  I'm baffled.

Oh, there's a lot of forum entries for that. TBH I've had that problem a couple of times but I sorted it out from my back up. I would google "Daz Studio forum PostgresSQL CMS" I don't think there's one solution.
