Installing non-Daz assets -- how to get them to display in DS 4.12...?

Friends -- I've rummaged around in the FAQs and the forums regarding this issue, but haven't found much that's useful; so I hope the wisdom of the group mind can help me out here.
The other day I purchased an asset (an Iray shader package) from a user at Renderosity. Having downloaded it, I dropped its subdirectories into the corresponding directories in my local file structure. But when firing up DS 4.12, it doesn't "see" any of the materials or utilities associated with the asset. (A note here, that everything else I've installed previously has been done using Daz Install Manager.)
Searching for the asset's files in the database produces no result (which makes sense, I guess, as the package wasn't DIM-installed). Searching for them using "search files" instead absolutely does show the files, and when used on an object they operate correctly / as expected.
Having to manually search for them every time I want to use them, though, is going to get to be a colossal pain in the butt. Does anyone know a way to force, blandish or otherwise hornswoggle DS 4.12 into seeing the damn things in the normal way -- along with all the other lists of shaders, categories, etc -- and displaying them normally?
Thanks in advance for any useful advice, as this is driving me right around the bend. :/
Best regards --
Diane

Are you using smart content? In this case this may help:

Hi Kerya!
To the best of my knowledge I'm not using smart content at all. I hardly ever even look at the tab. Nonetheless, let me have a look at the link you sent and I'll see what it suggests. :)

ETA: That link's useful: thanks again. I'm testing its method now on some of the files to see how best to get the tagging, categories, etc, to work. Who'd have thought all that stuff was hiding under that tab waiting for a right-click...)
Anyway, there's an image of the pathway below.)
