ACCESS_VIOLATION in module "C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\aticfx64.dll" at 0033:

I am running windos 10 with an AMD FX8370 8 core 4GHz processor, 32 GB RAM and an Invidai GTX1060 graphics card.  I installed DAZ.  Had one anomaly on instal several ofd the standard items failed instal the first time.  When I clicked on them a second time in the install manage they promptly seemed to install correctly.

Daz seems to start up normally until I suddenly get the following error.   ACCESS_VIOLATION in module "C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\aticfx64.dll" at 0033:0000000073200492, gslCfxInit()+14546 byte(s)

Any suggestions?  Should I uninstall and try to reinstall?

Thanks for the help

  • That seems to be part of the AMD DirectX support, do you perhaps have an AMD graphics chip integrated into your CPU? If so, is DS set to use that or the nVidia card - right-click on the Desktop and check the nVidia Control Panel.

Thank you for the suggestion.  Can you tell me what "DS" is and where to find it in the invidia control panel.

Congrats! First time in all these years I've ever seen that question. "DS" is Daz Studio ;-)

  • Its great to be educated.  When I pull up my Nvidia contorl panel and go to program settings, I see Daz, but my number 2. is the actual settings shown as Number 3. in your image.  I do not see a number 2 that allows me to sellect a preferred graphics processor.  I suspect this means I do not have an on board processor on my main mother bd and only have the GTX 1060.

    Thoughts?

  • In trying to fix the issue I updated my NVIDIA driver to the latest driver direct from Nvidia.  I also uninstalled DAZ and reinstalled.  No joy in either case.  Hexagon works just fine.  It is only the main DAZ program that has the issue.  DAZ 4.12.
