Working with geometry editor

I've been re-texturing some props, creating new surfaces with geometry editor. Is there a way to delete the original, now unused surfaces from the prop?

Yes. It's a two-step process. First you have to hide your unwanted selection with Right-Click -> Geometry Visibility -> Hide Selected Polygons.

Now hidden, you can delete them : Geometry editing -> Delete hidden polygon(s)

I don't want to delete the geometry, I want to delete the surface.

What has happened is there's a bunch of detailed geometry for a building, but it's all a single surface and they use a single texture for the entire front face of the house. What I am doing is assigning new surfaces to individual items like window and door frames, ect and applying my own textures to them.

What this leaves is the original surfaces that are no longer being used by any geometry but are still listed in the surfaces selection. I want to remove those.

  • Right-click on its entry in the Tool Settings apne with the Geometry Editor tool active.
