dForce exploding even though a dForce object is being used

I have played with the surfaces dials to no avail. The dress is a dForce marked long dress chemise, and as I try to drape one of the layers of the dress onto the leg it explodes. https://www.renderosity.com/mod/bcs/dforce-long-chemise-for-genesis-8-females/134672

The dress has not come into contact with any part of the model's body, and I have set the bend stiffness to 0.3, but nothing seems to be working. Any advice or tips?

  • It could be intersecting with itself.

The thing to do when a simulation isn't working is to do it as an animation. You start at the zero pose and then move into the pose and the garment is less likely to explode.

Did you made an animation or a single pose simu? It can also come from your pose: may be hands going through body,....

The most efficent (at least for me): frame 0: zero pose, frame 60: target pose. Check between the first frame and last frame if there are interpenetration (arm going through the body) and then adjust the animation to prevent this. Also check if there is enough space . e.g. : if the hand is to close to the body the clothe may be stuck between the two and then explosion !

For dynamic simulation we must think as in real life! The advantage of the animation is also to get a more realistic result as the clothe follow the "real life" movement
