N.G.S. Anagenessis 2 - Revolution or Reality 4.3 - DAZ Studio Edition

Hi all,
I'm looking for a way to get my renders looking more realistic. I still have a long way to go with learning about lighting but I thought these two products would help with realism. Which one is better or do they work in different ways?
Thanks in advance!
Cherie :)

Well, they are two different things.
Reality is a different renderer. I bought this when I was first getting started and almost never used it. If you know how to light your scenes, Iray (a render system included with Daz Studio) can get your renders looking very realistic.
NGS is a skin shader that gets you beautiful looking skin by using only the diffuse map. It is a personal favorite but it might be a bit daunting to use for a new user because if a PA has set a character's skin color though the surface pane settings rather than the diffuse map, NGS will change the skin color. How to get the color back to what you originally would require you to tweak the surface settings manually. There is an extensive commercial thread for this one which you can find here.
Thanks a lot for your reply and for sending the link! (I'll have a good read) :) I honestly can't believe the realism of some of the images in the galleries using NGS...some of them honestly seem like photos.
Sooner or later, there will be a NGS III; if you search Deviantart (and don't mind a touch of artful nudity), you should search for AS-Dimension-Z.
Thanks again for your comments guys! :)
I was wondering, is this https://www.daz3d.com/altern8--skin-shader-system-for-genesis-8 an alternative to https://www.daz3d.com/n-g-s-anagenessis-2-revolution ? Or is NGS better?
I would say different not better... I tend to use altern8 for my gen 8 figures and NGS for my pre Gen 8 figures.
NGS or other skin texture products won't make the difference if you don't understand lightin. Photography website will help.
to add to this, lear the render settings as well.
the magic triangle of 3d, light settings, render settings, shader settings.
get all three of those down, and you'll get a quality render.
Thanks guys :) I'm beginning to explore the lighting / render settings and am getting some good results with Alt8! :)
