I recently got into the software from E-on Vue that allows me to import 3d models like obj fbx and even poser files. but I am having a really hard time getting the exported files to work correctly out of daz. if its a fbx it will not save the pose and when imported it shows me roughly 325 materials assaigned to the object. with objs the pose is there but the amount of materials is about the same. i tried to do a few pipelines from daz to blender but it gave me errors because of the clothing I was using for the model. is there anyone out there that knows the best way of getting a model in a pose with clothing and not to many shaders out of daz. this seems a lot harder than it should be!

  • Have you checked the export options ? make sure you actually export the pose for FBX.

Do you get duplicate materials ? like one for arms, one for legs, one for face and so on ? you have settings for how to export materials, you might need to tweak those a little to get it over to VUE ok.

  • The main issues I have with fbx is that it will not save out the pose, I think I narrowed down the issue to object groups. some of the items I was using had individual parts thats used the same material but VUE sees each part as a separate shader. some of the outfits had ring figure 1 2 3 for each part of the hand that was a separate geo. vue looks at each one of these objects as it own group and its own shader.

  • I might have to redo the textures in blender so its one shader for each of the different textures. even importing the base figure with nothing it had over 40 shaders
