How to save Poser format & how to interpret new tech
Daz 4.12, yadda yadda, how do I save custom poses so they are also in Poser format? I want the DAZ format and Poser. Pretty simple question there. Pose Builder for Victoria 4.2 and Michael 4 broke the models arms, causing them to bow and undo didn't / couldn't fix what happend so the pose file is obviously not going to work either (right?).
I think I'm originally familiar with the 3DStudio? The Non-LRay stuff. I'm stuck home again and started to fiddle aorund with DAZ and get serious about making my own custom poses annnnnd... I'm looking at upgrading to the new age of G3 and G8. From V4.2. I know, old.
So, my first HUGE new problem is my main hurdle:
The Surface editor tab. Great Caesar's ghost WTH happened to that tab? I used to work with Diffuse Color/Strength, Glossiness, Specular Color/strength, Ambient Color/Strength, and Opacity. SPECIFICALLY Opacity as this would allow me to "cut" clothes, ground, even some walls. The modifications I could do with a body suit were nigh-limitless. The NEW, I'm guessing LRAY, version of Surface Editor Tab is a nightmare brought forth to this material plane. I can't find anything in there that allows me to edit, modify, color, or do anything. There appear to be well over a hundred options hidden in drop down menu after drop down menu and I just have no idea what's going on there anymore. Can I please be pointed to a post / (Free) tutorial that tells me how to use my updated DAZ3D? Without somehow being able to interpret this new surface editor fully 90% of my DAZ experience is out the window.
Thanks in advance!

https://www.daz3d.com/poser-format-exporter-pfe will export Poser-format poses, thugh I'm not sure how that will help if you re working in DS - a Pose preset should work in DS
I assume you mean 3Delight and Iray (that's an upper case i, not a lower case L), the two render engines.
You can stil use the old Daz Defaukt Shader, for 3Delight, and DS will convert to Iray at render time if you are using Iray. Newly created primtives/imported models will get the default shader for the current render engine, set in the Edit or Advanced tabs of the Render Settings pane. With the Iray Uber Base you want Cutout Opacity to hide things, though as with 3Delight you will also have to block any refraction/glossiness (usually by applying the opacity map to the relevant Strength proeprty if it is non-zero).
Hey, Thanks Richard!
The poser problem has deepend: PFE combines the hips and the generic x,y,z co-ordinates so models are no longer positioning correctly.
I'm trying to share my poses with my friends but I'm the Daz-man-out while they are all Poser. I can open their stuff. I can buy stuff that is poser specific and still utilize it but I cannot give BACK to the group. I know people create fence-straddling packs like Zeddicus whom I have several packs from but how do -I- do that?
