How to match animations to figures
I note with the animations supplied when I installed Daz3D there seems to be different animations per base character type (e.g. there are two "forward" walking animations - if I apply the one with the "g8" suffix to the David5 character it looks all wrong, whereas the other one looks OK). So I get that a particular character needs the correct animation set. But then how do I know what David5 is based on? I ask because if I want to purchase animation sets I want to make sure I order a set that will work with the character I want it to work with - and I haven't yet found animations advertised as working with David5. So I assume David5 is based on some generic character - and if I know what that is, then that is the character I order the animations for - is that right?
And to to follow up, once I know how to identify animations which will work with David5 - all I want is boring stuff (e.g. turning head to side, pointing, etc.) basically the sort of things normal people do most of the time (many of the animations seem to be designed to emulate the sort of complex behaviour that average person rarely indulges in!). So is there a recommended animation set, which will work with David5, which does the "boring stuff"?
Comments
All the 5s are based on Genesis,
the 6s on Genesis 2,
the 7s on Genesis 3 and
the 8s on Genesis 8.
most stuff genesis 2 and below interchangeable
feet often need tilting down, you can do that with foot offset
genesis 3 and 8 have separate aniblocks again pose controls can fix those between the two,
arms up down, legs in out
Thank you - useful reference information
