How to make a step with a foot without move the other foot of his position in the floor?

I want to create an animation of a walking subject, but when I move one foot forward with "Tools->Active Pose", the other foot also moves from his position. How to fix in a point on the ground for this foot don't moves?

Had you pinned the other foot? Usually Active Pose is more robust than the IK with the Universal Tool, though the latter offers more options for posing (you can rotate as well as translate, and use the sliders and the widgets as well as just dragging in the viewport).

The Active Pose pin will lock the foot down better, but the actual posing with Active Pose is more difficult because it's kind of a pseudo IK. IMHO You would be better off posing using the universal manipulator and regular IK pins. IK Pin both the rotation and translation of the weighted foot and then manipulated the hip and other parts to start the walk. Be careful not to overextend the pose or the foot will move off the ground; if this happens just move it back to it's previous location.

Active pose is useful for many types of poses, but not really for walks because you can't can't manipulate the hip rotation properly. Also if you overextend the hip in Active Pose the figure will flip 180 degrees. Unfortunately there was supposed to be a hard lock implemented for IK in DS, but for some reason it was never finished. If you look at the custom menu, you can still see the hard lock item there, but it doesn't do anything. It's a pity because would really be useful.

    Good Luck.
