what that means exactly I don't know.. but kindred arts has a bunch of shaders
I've noticed a bunch of shader presets also with that mdl assignment ... I think all it means is that they are for Iray rendering. Checking the above mentioned product page, they are all .duf files, not mdl files. Many folk, including myself at times, get the terms muddled up. Shaders work in the Shader Mixer and can be applied from there to models in the scene. To be kept, they are then saved out as shader presets, .duf files.
Yes [hopefully] - to the Shader Mixer panel. Have both programs open and from the folder holding the .mdl files, click on one and drag it on over to the panel.
n.b. the .mdl directory needs to be pointed to the folder.
n.b. if you're working in W10, make sure the .mdl is not set to 'read only' ... one of those quirky safety features.
n.b. if it doesn't load then check how it is named. No spaces, no strange characters.
