Just a note so no one gets the wrong impression, the webbed toes and fingers are from Creech for G3M. The rest is Cthuloid though!
Thanks!
Cool render 8)
(but now I'm put in mind of the bath scene from 'Satuday the 14th')
hah...love the bath shot :)
The character looks very good but I was a bit disappointed that it didn't have wings. I know it is a cthuloid but Lovecraft's Cthulu ihad wings (see attachment).
also wish it has somw tentacle poses
It does have pose dials for the tentacles at least, so you have some group poses to get you started, and then controls for each of the tentacles to get them in place pretty quickly!
There is already a wonderful Cthulhu figure in the store, this was not meant to be cthulhu....just distant kin
The more humanoid form allows it to be used for more than the standard lovecraftian lore. It can work better for alien or alongside mermaids now.
The tentacles all have individual dials to help create any pose you want.
just a pain if you are working with more than one figure and takes forever
He looks to me like one of the citizens of the town of Innesmouth, from the Lovecraft story!
A Dangerous Drink
I did notice that the Infernal Wings for G8 looked like they would be a good match
oh, the qestio about wings, look to Dragkon for them and a tail if you want one. Textures match up is okay. not perfert but will work. Also by using Dragkon, you get a reptile skin.
Anyway to make the Cthuloid skin very slimy without postwork? Finally bought Cthuloid and trying to make him more octopus like. I think I can soften the muscular body and limbs with morph dialing but no idea how to make the skins very slimy.
Not sure if this still works but you could try out N.G.S. Anagenessis or N.G.S. Anagenessis 2 from Dimension-Z. I did not use those products recently but I remember applying the settings to various products which always made a quite realistic effect.
You could adjust the "Top Coat" settings in surfaces to make it glossier, that would help get you there
There's also KindredArts WetWorx which could work well for your desired effect.
Oh, this guy is cool! Is it possible to have the tentacles be larger?
There are no specific dials made for adding length to them, but if you scale each tentacle along the z-axis, they will get longer.
I started trying to work with Cthuloid this evening, but something is wrong. His human nose is on his chest and the lower half of his face fell.
How can this be fixed?
Thanks!
First question: Are you loading the character from the character preset that is provided, or trying to assemble from the individual parts. I suggest using the character preset.
Second question: Do you have a tool selected that is not the node selection tool? If you have geometry editor or such things it will show the figure as if the graft was not attached
I was loading Cthuloid CHR, but must have had some other tool selected.
He comes in just fine now and I am looking forward to creating with him.
Thanks so much!
Glad it all worked out :)
